Worship Ministry

Worship is the reason for our creation, our redemption, our Great Commission and will be our eternal occupation. Our "chief end" is "to know God and enjoy Him forever." We are created to worship; whether we realize it or not, we worship some one or some thing each and every day. We are redeemed in order to worship Him, it is not an option. Because of what He has done, our hearts are to offer Him the purest, most passionate worship possible, both privately and corporately. Throughout scripture we are mandated to bring our first and our best and it is our aim and passion of the worship team to do so, relying upon His grace and the power of His Holy Spirit.

In preparing each week for the culmination of worship on Sunday, it is our conviction as a worship team that we will not do on Sunday what we have not done throughout the week. "You cannot lead where you do not go and you cannot teach what you do not know." So our first priority is a consistent life of worship day by day. We covet your prayers for our walk, that we will live hold, obedient, and surrendered and worshipping lives. It is also our conviction that in order to offer our first and our best, we must be intentional in our preparation for Sunday morning's corporate worship... spiritually and technically. This means consistent immersion in the Word, commitment, faithfulness and hard work, empowered by the Holy Spirit. While we can never be perfect, it is our aim to offer our best from our hearts. This means much prayer and hard work - blood, sweat and tears - go into each week's worship service. Please pray for us that we will not grow weary in well doing, but will allow the Spirit to fill us, empower us, control and work through us.

Finally, while we certainly do receive a blessing through worship, our purpose, our aim, is not to receive a blessing, but to give one - to bless our God first and then to minister to and exhort one another with "psalms, hymns and spiritual songs..." It is our desire to creatively engage the body of Christ in offering Biblical, God-centered and authentic worship. This can mean a variety of styles that may speak to and minister to the body in different ways. While we desire to be sensitive to the needs of the Body, our aim is to glorify God through every means He gives us, in style, in skill, and in media. Choir, solos, songs, hymns, instruments, technology... all are tools given to us by our Lord to glorify Him, and we will constantly be seeking Him first in how we use each of these. Ministry will flow when God is glorified.
